Platform P12SW, Wintershall, North Sea

Wintershall Noordzee B.V. is a 100 % subsidiary of BASF with 4 onshore and 25 offshore applications. For an unmanned offshore platform P12SW a wet gas compressor was required to increase the pressure of the well stream to transfer the production from this satellite to the main platform. Since a supply line for diesel oil was available the customer decided to install a diesel engine as pump drive, allowing variable speed from 1,300 rpm to 1,800 rpm. Since installation of the system late 2004 production of this satellite has increased and lifetime extended.
